I am sitting here waiting for my tea to brew, and there is a puddle of drool forming on my desk. Dammann Frères tea may be my new obsession, my new luxury item, and my new horded commodity.

When my father visited me a couple of weeks ago we stopped in at Tea Cup to grab some tea before heading down to Portland. I perused the extensive tea menu and settled on Casanova, a flavored tea from France. Casanova is flavored with lemon and vanilla and was a sensual treat. At the time they only had 4 of the Dammann Frères teas in stock but they assured me that they would be fully stocked soon. Apparently they were down to bare bones because of the August Holiday in France and they just ran out of their stock. If you aren’t in Seattle, you can order these teas from Tea Cup online. You could also order directly from Dammann Frères, but that is an international order. Right now I am sipping the Tea Cup blend “Framboise Caramel” and my goddess! It is FANTASTIC. Tastes like I dipped a raspberry in some warm caramel. I think I see little bits of toffee in my loose leaf tea, which I usually wouldn’t allow, but I don’t think it is enough to do any real harm. I am not perfect after all.
